Since 2016, we have kicked off our COATS FOR KIDS project with a Spooktacular celebration at Crying Eagle Brewing Company. The 2025 event is on Friday, October 24, from 5-9 p.m. Spooktacular is a family friendly event featuring games and activities, a petting zoo and pony rides! Throughout the night guests are treated to live music, a silent auction, and Poke-the-Pumpkin raffle fun.
Attendees who donate a coat of any size will receive a free glass, drink token, and raffle ticket.
All coats and money raised through COATS FOR KIDS are distributed to the 10 local charities. In 2024, we collected over 2,800 coats and raised $42,500.
Donations can be made online through the Community Foundation of Southwest Louisiana, enabling all donations to the Lake Charles Kiwanis Charitable Fund to be tax-deductible. The Community Foundation of SWLA is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, tax ID # 72-1508036. You will receive documentation for your tax-deductible donation.
